Also...is the Wee maintenance intensive? I'm a bit concerned with having a chain again, since I haven't had a chain drive bike since my Honda way back in 1972! I'd like to ride this bike to Alaska and back...and that's a looong way from Florida!

Any opinions on whether a DL 1000 might be a better choice. I've been drooling over the BMW 1200 GS, but I already have another $25k bike, and between the BMW's cost and the high maintenance, I'm thinking that would have been a severe buyer's remorse situation.
