Sweet christ man! 62mpg!?!

I'm getting 47mpg over 4k miles. Last tank held true at 47.6mpg. Guess I just ride hard or something.

I usually see about 60 mpg. but last month I ran two consecutive tanks (approximately 500 miles) while actively trying to maximize mileage. The first one was 69 mpg, the second, 67 mpg. 16T sprocket, light throttle, short shifts, maximum speed of 65 mph.

That's an '04 model with 40K miles - it can be done although it's kind of boring.

47mpg is good enough for me. And it keeps a smile on my face.

My last tank got me 64 mpg. I was shy with the throttle...most of the time. Never revved above 6k. And never exceeded 70 mph. Sounds kinda boring, but I bought it for gas savings AND it is (was) still under break in period.

Yep! Been getting the same results with the same technique. When I ride with my buddies on a road trip I'll usually get 60.1 mpg riding between 65 - 75 mph. They ride an SV 1000 and a Ducati Monster 800 and stop frequently to top up. I'll ride the whole day and have fuel to spare when I get home. they hate me.

I usually get 50-54.5mpg, but last fill-up I got 55.5mpg. Totally stock 08 Wee with me (230lbs) and a Nelson Rigg tailbag.

just a question u guys... so when the gauge gets to the final bar, the fuel light will blink... but there is a stage where the last bar will blink.. how much gas will u have till empty?

I usually have a solid two gallons in the tank when that last bar starts to flash. It's one of my few gripes with the bike. When the last bar is blinking I usually just shake the bike at stop lights and listen for splashing.

Oh, and I averaged 57 MPG on this tank and I wasn't taking it that easy. I only weigh 150 lbs though.

I noticed mine stays on full for a long time. Maybe 140 miles, then goes down rapidly. After it starts blinking, then it gets hollow and blinks. The most I have put in it when that happened was 4.9 gallons
