Thanks for the link and info graywolf. Maybe it is a combinatin of both. My wife and I both sat on two other new Glee's and we both felt the others sat taller. Maybe, and I haven't checked yet because of my work schedule this week, but the stock Glee may have been set up soft. The owners manual says the rear should be factory set at three. Will check on that.

Forget about factory settings. They are meaningless. Use the link I posted. The only way to set up preload is to get it so the load to be carried settles the suspension about 40mm from full extension. Do that. If the ride still isn't the way you like it, parts need to be added or replaced because preload setting changes won't help any more.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014+ DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012+ DL650s

Please vote in the poll on what Strom(s) you have at

Sweet sound with scorpion exhaust. Great ride home. Love how the bike corners. Bike has suzuki gel seat but also stock seat, thought the gel put me up too high with the stock bar height. Might not matter, when I got home my wife put the stock seat on it and is calling it hers.

Well hell, do you blame her????That's once nice looking ride there.
