How it got broken off is perhaps the question?? Just wouldn't do that on it's own..perhaps misalignment when installing, then sitting on it snapped it off??? Dropped it, stepped on it...???
I would fill the void with epoxy putty, shape the top with a file to match the other one, then drill and tap the mounting holes for the bracket and some ss screws.
If not fully up and under the front like it should be, then maybe you broke it by sitting on it? I have misaligned my seat more than once on multiple bikes, I always pull up to ensure I am under the seat bracket. I would try some JB weld possibly or something similar, can't hurt to give Sargent a call either.
you only need one. Definitely chk with Sargent first, but in lieu of spending $ just epoxy the old one back on, WITHOUT the bracket. Bend the other bracket out a bit with an adjustable wrench (keeps stress off the mounting boss), to make sure its not in a bind when the seat is in.
Dane at Sargent told me they would most likely repair it for free, so shipped it to them.
Returned to me in brand new condition, cover re-done too, looks like a brand new seat,
I'm in shock, what a great company, really stand behind their products, stock seat is like a concrete park bench, Sargent like a barcalounger, Wallet and ass, very happy.
Good to hear about their CS should I ever need it.
