Does anyone know what the differences are between the front brakes on a 2006 Wee and a 2007 Wee non-abs? I always see the front brakes as something Suzuki changed but never have found out what or why?
Just something I'm pondering this morning as I drink some coffee and wake up.
Starting in '07, the master cylinder got a slightly smaller bore. That means less effort is required to put the same force on the pads but it takes a little more travel on the lever.
Also, the later wheels got bigger hubs to accommodate ABS sensor rings whether they had them or not so the holes in the center of the discs got larger in diameter and the bolt hole pattern changed. The disc rotors remained the same size so there was no effect on braking because of the change.
Are the pistons inside the calipers the same size? I thought I read somewhere the 04-06 were 30mm pistons vs. 27mm for the 07+. However, I can't find that info now.
It looks like the 07+ does in fact have smaller pistons inside the calipers.
