Default Nelson Riggs Adventure Dry saddlebags

Has anybody gotten there hands on these yet?

I know they are new to market, but I was just about to buy the CL-850s when I saw the new Adventure Dry bags......they even come in orange and are waterproof. Looks like a rolltop that might mean dismounting or some extra effort to get at your stuff but hard to tell from their picture.

I already have the Dan Vesel muffler standoff and the left side tool tube guard so I don't think there will be any issues mounting them. Just curious about the Strom universe opinion before I spend my money. I only found them on Nelson Riggs website, don't know if they're hitting the online dealers distribution yet. My big trip isn't until April so I have some time before splurging.

What d'ya think?

Just the other day I also saw these on Nelson Riggs site, and almost made a similar post as yours.
I'm starting to look at soft bags too. I'm was looking at both the CL-850's and the CL-950's, and then I saw these adventure dry bags. I like the fact that their capacity(27.5 liters) is between the 850's(35 liter) and the 950's(20 liter).
I'd like to see some better pics of them though, and would like to see a review on them before I bought them. The price seems decent enough too.
If you get them, post up a review.

These look very interesting. I've been trying to decide on a set of soft bags for my Vee and my F800. I've had good luck with Nelson Rigg in the past and if these are anywhere near the quality of my previous pieces of kit...I'll be ordering a set this spring!

Interesting, I am also very close to purchasing some soft bags and was considering the 850's or 950's.

Not bad for $129, but I wonder if the other bags with their rain covers, aren't more day to day usable. These don't look real quick to get in and out of. But the waterproof feature is a nice aspect for soft luggage.

They also have a matching big rear top bag as well.

I must now pause and reconsider my options.....

I have the 850's and the waterproof covers are worthless. I mean the work as long as you dont go faster than 35mph. Typical cruising speeds will slowly work them off and then POOF! there goes one and you'll be lucky to catch it in your rear-view and even luckier if the guy behind you does'nt run it over. I was 1/2 lucky.....i saw the guy behind me run it over in my rear-view! lol
I wish they had these before i bought the 850's

Either operator error or defective product, my bet is the former. There's plenty of traps, like incorrectly installing the internal stiffener, cover, bags, or some combination.
My NR SB900 covers (same as the 850's) have stayed on at sustained GPS 75 mph speeds for 1+ hour at a time, multiple times. Never had one blow off under any circumstances.

thats the thing....first hour or two is fine but it slowly works its way off. crossing Saddle Road in between two volcanos there are some pretty good cross winds. once a little flap gets exposed then boom!....the next gust takes it off. it should have come with a drawstring not bungy material. dont get me wrong....great bags but flawed raincover design.

You must be one of those guys who thinks he's going somewhere close to 75mph because his speedometer says so.

I've been all over the big island and my best recolection is there's not much way to sustain 35 mph for an hour, much less 75 - not to mention your top speed limit is 60.

Come on over here and travel east/west with 40-50 mph gusting side winds from the south with large grain silos on the upwind side. If that don't blow your bloomers off, nothing will.

I've ridden all day in the rain with the 850s and the covers worked flawlessly, rode through 3 states, had to cinch them up once while gassing up. For $130, I'll live with it. Worthless? Far from it.
