The conversation I had with the folks from Nelson Rigg was that racks were recommended for installation of these bags but NOT requried.

I have the 2012 side racks sold on eBay by losi330 in San Diego. They work with my NR CL-850 saddlebags really well, and offer sufficient standoff on the right side such that I don't have to use the heat pad on the right saddlebag. I will be interested to see how the dry bags mount on these racks.

Have not actully seen the Nelson Rigg but most think they are good and they should serve you well. I went with Rev Pack and have both the large and the xtra large bags and love them. Rode in the rain 400 mi at the gathering last summer and had just a few drops in one bag. I love soft bags for for the weight savings and they can go from one bike to another in a few minutes. Good luck
