OK, got the parabellum shield, better than stock but still not perfect. holes lined up perfectly for a simple instal directly to front faring. Got the madstad bracket. This went on fine, the bracket has the bottom holes closer together than the top as it should be. However the top section of the bracket has the mounting holes IN LINE. Clearly any shield that previously worked with the faring orientated hole will not work with this bracket.
Have I made a mistake on the instal or have I recieved the wrong part from Madstad? I have 9 days to fix this before I head off on a very long journey. Worse case scenario is that I drill new holes in the screen to fit the bracket, no big deal, but then do I have to plug the original holes to stop noise? Cheers

The madstad bracket for 2012 was designed to fit any shield from the prior years so you would have a bigger selection of shields. Any shield designed to fit directly to the fairing of the 2012 will not fit the madstad. Options would be to mount the shield you have directly to bike or get another shield from prior years to fit the madstad. Check the madstad website they explain and even have windshields that fit.

The web site says that it is because of the stock shield being so far off-set that there is a need for earlier shields. Has the hole configuration changed with the '12. Are earlier models designed with more linear hole set up?

Wanting to make sure i understand this. Will the Stock shield for the 12 Glee fit on the madstat bracket, or do you need to buy an alternate shield from previous model years if you want to use the Madstat?
NM Found my answer...from the Madstat site "This also means that the stock shield (and the accessory shield) WILL NOT WORK with the new MadStad brackets. "

Yea, your answer is correct, as I have found out the hard way. I wanted to test out the new shield without the bracket to gauge if I really needed it. But to do that you have to get the hole pattern which will not work with the bracket.... Solution - buy another new shield or take the drill to the shield and do some 'renovation' to get it on. Just not sure about the excess holes afterward .....

Just a quick update. Drilled the new holes, fitted the whole system and absolutely no buffeting what-so-ever!. The holes don't seem to make a difference and there are no sounds (my fear was a whistling shield) apart from finally hearing what my bike sounds like! Recommended!

Don't you love it when that happens? Nice!
My Madstad and Givi Touring screen should arrive from Pat Walsh tomorrow. I'm hoping for a similar outcome. |

both at the bottom and the top, giving the best wind coverage and I have used the D260 Givi w the Madstad, the Givi air foil. All the shields are a vast improvement on the stocker but the Parabellum is the best and also looks the best IMHO. |

My wife has the parabellum on the Wee. She loves it. It is big, but extremely quiet. The only challenge is now she can hear the engine and she says her engine is "loud" at 80 mph. It's just that she can hear it now...
