I went through a custom Sargent for $325 used and a $90 buttpad that didn't do the job. I had a sheepskin from the old bike too. A Sargent and the sheepskin worked fine on the '07 but just didn't do it for the '12. The stocker was better. At least the pan for the custom Sargent handled the core for the Russell so I could keep the stocker for shorter trips.

All that jerking around, all that money... I finally decided I was going to get the Russel or just abandon plans of long-range moto riding.

The Russel works, and I'm now a member of the "I should've just bought it in the first place" crowd. I thought I'd be smart and save money with a cheaper solution - it wound up being a false economy.

Note: I didn't try a Sargent or Corbin - many are happy with those seats. But they're not cheap, either, and they aren't truly "custom." The Russel is made to match the specific rider; the others are just higher-end "one-size-fits-all".

In all my (copious) research on Russel, I only ever found found one person who regretted his purchase.

I'll post pics on this thread when I get it.

I've spent nearly as much on farkles and gear as the bike itself and decided to reign in my purchases. It was difficult watching the 26th come and go as I was on the vulcan bagger list. Bad timing for a budget conscience, lol. Of course now GW will comment on my gas pump choices, lol.
