New to the Strom world, and reasearching a dizzying number of options for windscreens, luggage, etc.

I see that the Madstad brackets push the shield out a ways from the fairing. Are there any other adjustable type brackets similar to the Madstad? Or are they the only game in town?

Thinking about the Windstrom shield on the Madstad, but a photo I saw looks like it's way out there.

That's the only adjustable bracket out there I know of. The gap is a big part of the reason the system works. The screen is not just an air blocker. That creates turbulence in the rider area. The gap allows air under the screen to flow up the back of it into the low pressure area created by the air at the front of the screen going over the top. Air flows up the front, up the back, meets at the top and flows over the rider's head.

nifty bracket - moves scsreen up and down and tilts - EASY to adjust in the field

mine is currently set low and tilted back - opposite of what you would expect (see Greywolf's explanation eblow for likely reason)

Thanks for the explanation on that. My previous bike was a GL1800 and it just fit me right...never really had to do anything to it to improve aerodynamics or anything.

If you don't mind the possibility of potentially needing to place a second order, I would suggest getting the Madstad bracket and using the stock windshield. That was enough of an improvement for me to forget about buying a new screen.

That won't work with the Glee. The Madstad won't accept the stock screen.
