2012 Vstrom 650

I am also looking at the ABS Switching Adapter but confused as to which switch to buy. The description says it requires a heavy duty SPST switch capable of handling at least 15A. But the handlebar switch looks to be rated at only 5A. I have sent Jim at Eastern Beaver an email to clarify which switch he recommends. Am I missing something?

Jim Davis at Eastern Beaver did respond very promptly to my email and has confirmed, as noted above in Grey Wolf's corrected post, that the 5A handlebar switch is not the right choice for the ABS switching adapter. His email on this point in case anyone is still confused : "I do not, and have never recommended the handlebar switch. It's just not up to the task. You need a heavy duty 20A type. I have a toggle switch, a rocker, and the little rocker that will all work fine."

I didn't run down down far enough on the switch page. The switches capable of more than 15A are not handlebar switches.

Any opinion on the suitability of using EB's red 5A bar switch to control the headlight cut function on the harness linked below?

A 10A switch is recommended, but the ones sold on EB's site can't be mounted on a handlebar.

It's just adequate for the job but the duty cycle is very low since the switch isn't used much. I wouldn't worry.
