Like the title says, I can't get the Wix 51395 to fit on my bike. I thought it would fit just fine, but maybe I didn't research enough. My bike is DOA until I can get it on - I just cannot get it to thread. Should I keep trying or is this futile? Please help!

The correct Wix filter is the 51359, not 95. Take another look.

Yeah, sometimes numbers get transposed. It happens with the best intentions. It's a good idea to check out stuff personally and take messages here as helpful rather than gospel. PTRider is one of the most knowledgeable people here but we all make mistakes.

I had to track down my file of alternate filters and check twice before I noticed. I even had an answer written to check if the filter itself had a number as well as the box and if you had a way of checking to see if the filter and mount had a 1mm thread pitch. A second look and I noticed the transposed digits.

The opening page says there are 773,393 posts here when I checked and that's only the active stuff. Plenty have been archived or otherwise cleaned out. There will be errors.
