The rubber ring you mentioned that you installed will not allow for proper torque tightness of your engine mounting bolts which could present a much larger issue over a short period of time.

Keep in mind that those bolts are engine mounts which require proper tighness or torque. A rubber vibration dampener was not designed into GIVI or OEM engine mount It will be interesting to see how this works out for you. In fact, I would remove the rubber rings and retighten your engine mount bolts to proper spec. Your bike, your call.

I must have gotten lucky with my install. I still have not experienced vibes or any issues even with the halogen driving lights installed. I thought the lights my cause some vibe issue but they have not. No ringing, singing, or vibes.

For what it's worth. Good luck!

Default Agree with you all, doing nothing...

This thread strikes home, as I have the Suzuki bars and I have commented to people about the roughness of the 4800 - 5000 rpm range. I just figured that it was a sort of limit that separated the torquey pull of low rpms from the racier smoothness of the higher rpms. You just can't cruise at 5000 rpm. I think I'll just live with it like that... but with new knowledge about the cause!

Appreciate any responses.. Just so I understand this correctly, the people without any "vibration issue" are not sensing any additional vibration or minimal change in the handlebars / mirrors with their crash bars installed right? If that is the case, if holding the crash bars while riding do you feel vibration in the crash bars or are they also vibration free?

I ask because I just installed alt rider bars and plate. Alt rider bars attach to the engine mounting bolt and front two bolts for the bracket like the OEM bars.

I don't believe I'm experiencing any additional vibration in the handlebars or mirrors, but the crash bars are definitely vibrating at all engine speeds. I don't see how they cannot given the mounting points.

One of the reasons I chose the alt rider bars is because of some comments on the givi bars vibrating and not so with the alt rider bars on gen 1 wee.

Default 2012 with HB crash bars

When I installed these bars, I noticed that the cross bar holes did not line up with the side bars. They were not off by much so I was able to get them together. Between 4000 and 5000 sounded like the horn was buzzing. Did not do this before the bars. I have since elongated the holes to release the tension and have placed some rubber mat between the cross bar mounting points. Problem solved.

If you put your hand on the crash bars (regardless of manufacturer) while riding you will always feel some vibrations - it's only vibrations in the pegs, handle bars and mirrors that's an issue.

I installed my bars when I got the bike. Near zero vibration.

Trip to the dealer who removed them to replace the headlight I broke, vibes are there.
Loosened, adjusted the mounts, retightened and the vibes are a lot less - so setup is critical here.

Can you take a picture of the spot you elongated and where the rubber mat is please? I've got the OEM crash bars and the vibration between 4800 and 5K RPMs. Lower and higher RPMs are just fine i.e. no vibration. It's really not annoying since it's only the bars - not handlebars or mirrors, but I'd like to know what to do in case I get annoyed in the future.

I recently added Givi nerf bars (connected to Amotostuff skid plate plus Happy Trail hi way pegs) to my 2007 DL1000 and didn't notice any additional vibration.
