Default Question for 2012 ADV owners and TRAX owners..

All,

I have read some threads about the 650 adventure model with the TRAX cases. Some owners are reporting that their cases came with a wax remover (Die Sonax-Wasche). I have the aftermarket TRAX cases on my 2012 and I just washed the bike with the cases on. I used S100 cycle wash and some cold water. The bike and cases were not hot to the touch. After washing, I noticed in direct sunlight that there is some streaking on the cases. Its almost like there is a film on the cases. I took them off and rewashed them with no luck. Anyone know if there is wax on the boxes? It does appear to be some sort of film because I can change the streaking with a little elbow grease. Maybe that is what the Die Sonax-Wasche stuff is for? My TRAX boxes did not come with this stuff. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Sean

Have not tried to wash my cases but they do seem a little greasy. Here is what those packets look like, they are divided with a towelette in one side and liquid in the other. Now that I check the cases, Sean, I think you may be right about this wax remover. Will try it out later tonight.

Thanks Ken. I just wanted to see what other folks have experienced. I dont want to mess up these expensive cases.

I opened the package today;
There are two towlettes in the package; one dry and one wet. The wet one is simlilar to one of those wet wipes ...perhaps alcohol as a solvent? Anyway one wet one was enough to clean all 3 of my cases and it did remove that waxy residue. If you don't have these included with your cases, maybe just try some wet wipes...failing that, maybe use dish washing detergent in warm water? I am not too worry about damaging these cases as they seem well finished and quite robust.

Good stuff Ken! Thats what I thought. I tried the dish soap and it did help a little. Maybe after the next wash it might finish off all of the wax. Thanks for checking for me.

I think it means if you use this product, your vehicle will look like it got kissed by a woman who just got out of the shower....
