I was just posting the conversion $$$, I won't be buying one... far too spendy AND I'm holding out a little longer to see what SV Racing Parts will be offering.

Any projections on when you'll have them available... and the estimated cost?

I just found out I have the privilege of picking up the next Twisted Throttle Project bike. It is a 2012 DL650. The third DL650 we have kitted out. I will start a build thread once we get going on it. If you have any questions about installation of anything from SW-MOTECH, Bags-Connection, Denali, or MRA for this bike let me know.

Kevin

Cool! Looking forward to a dedicated thread.

Excuse my being repetitive (I asked this just yesterday in the 'comments' section of your site).

Regarding the skid plate: Does one have to remove the entire skid plate (including the bracket's engine case bolts) when replacing the oil filter?

Thanks.

That's my question, too and will be a significant factor in deciding whether to upgrade to the 2012 or not. Selling a farkled bike gets almost nothing for the upgrades. If I don't have to buy everything all over again it would save a lot of cash. SV Racing is checking into the emulators and springs for the fork, and the Elka shock I already have for my '06 to see if they can be swapped.

Default SW-MOTEC Kick Stand Foot.

Twisted Throttle,

If you plan on installing the SW-MOTEC kickstand foot be prepared to do some grinding or filing before you get it to fit. It is pretty obvious the manufacturer never actually installed one on a 2012 V-Strom. If you look at the stock kickstand there is a small bracket that helps reinforce the kickstand shaft to the pad connection. This bracket is welded to the shaft and the pad and the manufacturer never accounted for the weld.

My dealer threw $500 in OEM accessories into the deal. I ordered the hand guards, heated grips, and lower cowl. I don't intend to offroad, but the OEM lower cowl is very flimsy. I was hoping it might stand up to kicked-up objects on the highway, but after seeing it in person I have my doubts.

Amen to that. Gets my vote. I'll hold out for availability.

That engine guard looks nice. I was going to get the factory lower cowl, but I like to hit fire roads sometimes, so I'll wait to see what else comes out. I got the OEM handguards and centerstand when I bought it, easy to throw onto a 0% interest loan.

I just ordered the SW Motech bracket and Coocase 37L topcase for my 2012 650 from Twisted throttle, they should be here tomorrow. I'll post pics once I get them on.

I called my Suzuki dealer about a manual, but they said they aren't available yet. Has anyone found a source for a manual, or maybe it is too early? I did order a low seat from them which I'll send to Russel once I get it.
