After 6500 miles covering a route from Chicago through the BAJA and crossing from La Paz to Mazatlan onto Veracruz I have not had 1 issue with a bike I bought off Ebay sight unseen, with 26,400 miles on it. (now 32,940 ; changed oil/filter and chain)) I have owned a very reliable DL1000 for a year and toured Eastern and Western Europe but the Wee I prefer for mild off road adventures and is MUCH better on gas consumption. The engine is also much sweeter at low RPM. The 1000 tended to surge. I can lug around town at 1200 rpm w/o any problem and have never had the need for the additional power. This is from a guy coming off a Hayabusa I own as well. We are headed for Argentina and have a long way to go but so far this 2007 bike has been bullet proof

Thanks for the report and I'm sure many of us would love to see and hear more of your adventure. Nice blog too. I'd like to think that I have what it takes to travel like you are, but I'm not sure...for now I'll enjoy your blog. Buena suerte!

Our original plan included Utah. Very sorry not to have seen this gorgeous state. Weather did not cooperate. Hopefully sometime in the future!
