Need a little help figuring out why I have no brake lights. All other lights on the bike work fine. Bulbs are not blown. I did add an Eastern Beaver PC-8 kit a few months ago. It uses the brake light connector under the back of the tank to power a relay, so I removed the kit harness and plugged the factory connectors back together. Still no brakes light. Bike is '09 without ABS if that is relevant. Any known causes for this, or do I need to go digging for a broken wire somewhere? Oh, yeah, it doesn't matter if I use the front or rear lever, either.

Are you sure the brake light isn't on constantly? The typical situation is the rear brake light switch adjuster is wrongly set so the brake light is always on. Lift the top of the spring connection #16 and see if the light goes dimmer. If that isn't it, the next most likely situation is a bad connection somewhere to the rear of the rear of the rear brake light switch. It would be very unusual for both front and rear switches to fail.

Thanks for the help. That seems very plausible, especially given what i see in the wiring diagram. I will check that in a bit. Just got off work this morning, and got to take a nap...

Well, that was it. Pulled the foot peg bracket, ran the switch in a turn or so, and allis good. Thanks again for the help!
