This weekend I installed the VVME HID conversation kit to help wattage when I used heated gear.
First impressions: WOW, I know everyone says 3x the light using less wattage but damn. It was like day time. Besides the better light to help me no way people will miss you. Also while the heated gear is on the lights don't pulsate. I turned my bike on and ran the hazard lights, brakes and my gerling heated jacket and gloves my volts were at 12.80 and steady. Toward the end of the ride with my jacket and gloves on full wih no brakes and blinker on my volts fell below 12 volts and kept dropping so I think the HIDs are not enough for running the heated gear on high. On high the heated setup pulls 104watts so I think I just have a bad heated setup. I will try to run everything at half tomorrow to see the outcome. But on high the gear had me sweating. Blinkers and brake lights draw ~25W each when on. The gloves ~27W and the jacket liner ~77W. Your bike can put out about 125-150W more than its normal running requirements @5000rpm. The HIDs only save 10-15W each from stock but they have an unwavering light output from 11-16VDC.

Nice to hear you like the lights. I just ordered a set for my ST from them and I'm looking to seeing them light up the road

it was 28 degrees today and of course I rode in
![]() I had my gloves on high and my jackey liner maybe half way. Doing this same heating setup I would drop below 12v, but today I hit a low of 12.2 or so when stopped at a red light/traffic, so I have to say power wise the lights help but now that I have them they help more for rider visibility and safety so even if you don't need to save power you should get these things. AWESOME!!!! But its werid, not sure if its just the bike or jacket warming up but if I have all gear on high and my bike is sitting idle the volts would drop below 13, but as I ride and have to stop (no brake lights on etc) the volts will drop below 12v. The easiest fix is rev the engine to 1500 and I am fine. Hope doing this I don't slowly mess something up.

When idling, there is no wind chill. I have an SPDT relay activated by the brake lights. When the brakes are on, the normally closed contacts on the relay open and the power to my dual heat controller is cut off. I can choose whether to save power or continue to heat while idling by applying the brake or not.

What SPDT relay do you recommend? also is there a plug and play option? I ask just because I amready have the Eastern Beaver kit for my PC-8 so I don't need to mess something up there.
Thats an GREAT power/heating fix.

Any 5 connection automotive relay will work. Your local auto parts store is the place to get one. You have to cut the common power wire from the PC-8 to the heat controller and extend the cut ends to 87a and 30. 85 and 86 go to the white/black brake light wire and the black/white ground wire. The is no plug and play option.
