Default Cheapest battery?

I used the "search" function and am really surprised I didn't find an easy answer.

Where can I get the best deal on a battery?

I bought a Yuasa from Amazon. It was $67 shipped I think. It had a bad cell in it. I sent one email informing the seller that I thought I might have a bad one. They sent another battery in about 3 days. It has had no problems at all.

got a yuasa on amazon for $77.

just curious why you'd want a "cheap" battery that might fail prematurely or not last very long...

I bought a cheap battery for my DR 650 once at an auto parts store. About 4 months later I had to replace it. I was on tour at the time and so I had to buy another.
I don't buy cheap batteries anymore and especially avoid ones manufactured in China.

Default -$$ batteries

do yourself a favor & drop in to the BATTERIES-PLUS STORE, there are a couple in the SEA-TAC area

spend a few extra bucks & treat the skoot to a good one, instead of a cheap one

i'm betting you wont be sorry

& that's my 2¢ worth

I agree with some of the other posters above... I am not so sure a "cheep" battery is the right way to go.

I have ridden for over 30 years and *used* to purchase the cheepest battery I could find. I would VERY carefully fill the acid precharge as per instructions. Remove from bike in winter and charge every cupla weeks during off-season.

These batteries NEVER lasted more than 2 seasons!!

Now, my Wee has a AGM battery (Absorbed Glass Mat). This is the very best battery I have ever owned. It maintains a charge soooo well that it rarely gets below 80% charge even when installed in bike for weeks without use.

This battery is so good, I move it to my snowmobile during the winter... it just keeps working year-after-year.

The other day, I accidentally left the "parking lights" on in my Wee. FOR 6 HOURS!! ... The bike started right up and got me home. I put the battery on my smart-charger expecting it to need it but was fully charged within 30 minutes.

Default Good battery

I did some quick research and looks like the AGM batteries are fairly reasonable and from above post and what I read way to go.

Battery-Web.com - Batteries for Suzuki DL650 V-Storm 650cc 2004-2011

This link shows batteries for Vstrom for $55 (10AH) and $75 (12AH). DL650 Manual list 10AH.

Did not do anymore searching than that. Mine is 5 yrs old so figure I'd check pricing

In terms of cheap batteries on 25 years of owning prior BMW, price did not matter. BMW was priciest and worst on life [3 yrs]and one of the cheapest ones lasted over 6 years; but sealed Panasonic was going fine and 6 years old when I sold it. Go figure..

Hey, Norm! How's it going? You got greywolf's old ride? (I've been out of the loop so to speak)

Back on topic, I've had a cheap walmart battery for 4 years or so. No problems. Only time I throw it on the charger is if it's going to sit for more than a month.
