Default My bike looks frumpy

Ok its a standard Wee but I have a tall windscreen. My wife says the screen makes it look like a police bike. The mirrors are also a bit without style. I am not usually a BLING kind if person but I think I need to "sportify" my bike a little.

The screen and mirrors are both effective. Although the screen is 23" and it is a little too tall or a little too short for optimum viewing. I does seem to prevent buffeting however. The mirrors give me good view and that is the most important thing but if I can get a better looking mirror and achieve that I would do it.

I think on my silver k7 the clear turn signals with amber bulbs would look sportier and maybe a white reflector rather than amber.

Any other thoughts on how to make it look a bit more ducati?

Looking like a motor officers bike has it's advantages. On my HD I wear a white police style helmet and most cars move over quite rapidly when I come upon them quickly.
If your shield works well for you, I would keep it as comfort trumps asthetics.

See if Stromin'Nroman would be willing to give up the MP screen mount and sport screen from my old bike. I don't think he's using them.

I suggest flames. Maybe on the tank or even some coming up from the bottom of the windshield.

Yes, flames are the solution.

That screen does make a ton of difference. What exactly is that setup. If if the member has plans for that I am likely to just get screen. I think the Madstad brackets would be good with a small screen for most of my riding. I could keep the larger screen for real mile work or when the weather gets cold.

A sport screen looks weird with the Madstad bracket. It puts the screen too far from the cowling. The setup is exactly what I stated in post #3. Sadly, MP is out of business.

Gotcha. I was not familiar with MP and now I understand why. I do like the look and if the air was below my helmet it would be perfect for my commutes.

On the front part of the cowlings you need shark teeth ala WWII P-40!

Let's see the two DL650AK7s from a similar perspective.

And another pair. I like the clear turn signal lens covers on the gray bike too, along with the Emgo mirrors.

Thanks, Greywolf, for the comparison pictures. It shows a little tweak here and there will make a big difference. I like the sleek mirrors too.

I have the hand guards back on my bike but I think even looking at the pictures you posted, they look a bit bulky. A leaner hand guard might look better also.

Then sport shield is cool how it angles and matches the front fairing to headlight angle.
