Default Help! This fell off in the wash today!

Washing my 2007 650 (ABS) and this rubber doodad "appeared" on the right (brake) side.

Bike was up on the center stand (so rear suspension was fully drooped) and it doesn't look like it's related to any rear farkles. (Givi bags, Bushmaster trailer hitch, skid-plate)

If I can't get the pictures, it's a black rubber "puck" about 1" in diameter, 1/4" thick, with a shallow conical divot in on side, and the label "GA507" on the other. Weird thing is, It shows no real sign of wear, although the divot could've been the point at which a cylindrical piece was molded in to hold it.

What'd I just knock off?!

Default centerstand bumper?

Could it be the bumper stop on the bottom of the exhaust pipe that stops the centerstand when it's in the riding position?

Looks like the up stop for the center stand. Should be a bracket on the centerstand that it does into.

Is it a grommet for one of your side panels? Possibly the black trim piece below the gas tank?

That definitely looks like your center stand bumper on your exhaust.

It does look like a centerstand bump stop. And it probably broke off the molded in piece that is mushroom shaped, goes in the hole in the bracket to hold it in place. I have drilled a hole in the piece you have and put a small bolt ( without a washer under the head so it draws itself up in the rubber some when tightened ) thru it and the bracket with a washer/nut on the backside. Centerstand still hits on rubber if you draw the fastener up into the rubber some.

( this is a REAL GOOD place to use loctite on the threads as you don't have much tension on the fastener)

Default It's a....

This rubber plug is part of the centre stand fitting, and stops the stand itself banging noisily metal against metal when the stand is retracted. To find the exact fitting location, put your bike on the side stand and check where the centre stand legs align when retracted. You'll find a hole in which the stud will be a snug fit.

It's a hard lesson but that should teach you to never wash the Wee again

I just checked my SW-Motech center stand and the rubber bump stop is smaller than the one you have but I did find that the inner spring for the stand is broken... so thanks for making me look at it!
