Default Which way should I go?

I've seen wee-stroms with full farings......and I have only seen one upfront with crash bars on it. My feeling is and always has been , it has been a BMW at 1/3rd the cost but is a SV also....I know when it turns to bad roads my buddy's on other bikes have to slow down..when it turns to dirt..I win..with my wife on the back..I still have the road...I would like to see pictures of what others have done to turn me one way or the other...it's not leaving the family but trying to go somewhere with it to pressure the wife to get her own...just looking for ideas!

Dude, no offense intended, but your post doesn't make much sense to me. Maybe you could clear it up a bit before people post replies?

I bought my wee so I could ride the wife, I didn't want her following me on her bike any more.
With us riding two bikes we were defeating the MPG advantage of motorcycles, and doubling our chances for something to go wrong.
I wouldn't encourage my wife to start riding, if she wants to ride she will have to convience me it is because SHE WANTS TO.
Many people ride the wee off paved roads, but mine will hardly ever see even gravel roads, that is what the KLR is for.

I think the OP may be saying that he has seen lots of V-Stroms configured for sport touring, but not many adventure touring setups, and he's asking to see examples of the latter for ideas for his own bike. Spend a little time at ADVRider and you'll see some very trail-worthy examples:

This pic from the second link is one of my particular favorites:

The beauty of the Strom is that it's very versatile, you can do a lot with it. My own bike is set up for... well, it doesn't really fit any category anymore. Maybe "sport-adventure-touring-commuter"? As I've been living with it, I've added things to tailor it better to the way I use it. Somewhat ruggedized for dirt use, but I haven't gone all out with knobbies and such because I commute to work on it, too.
