Is there any way of adjusting the rear brake pedal/lever downward? I find that when I am sitting comfortably on the bike that my right foot is angled downward to the point where my foot is resting beside the rear brake lever, not over it. So if I wanted to engage the rear brake quickly, I would have to lift my right foot to find it, whereas on my previous bike, my foot was sitting right over the lever and I would just need to press down to engage it. Looking at the lever, I am not seeing a simple way to adjust the angle of it downward.

You can loosen the top nut #6 and rotate #5 clockwise looking from the top to raise the rear of the brake lever and lower the front. When it's where you want, tighten the top #6 nut. If you bottom #5 on the brake lever, you are out of adjustment room. Yon might get a little more by filing down the bottom of #5 but not much.

I've adjusted mine after I got the bike home from the dealer; it was too high. As usual, GW has the best description, complete with pictures.
And when you adjust it, be sure to adjust the brake light switch also, or else it will be always on. |

Alternately, remove pin #11, loosen nuts #6, and reposition yoke #4.

Like GW suggested, I need a little more downward adjustment than the length of the long #5 bolt allows. I don't like hacking stuff off to fit, but I need another inch of pedal adjustment. I think about an eighth inch would give close to an inch at the pedal, but don't want to totally booger the threads. Not sure from the exploded view if the bolt is removable at the top. Seems like trying to file down on the bike would be tedious if not completely frustrating. Would rather remove and cut. Any suggestions or tips would be appreciated. Thanks.
