Came out of work tonight and noticed the parking lights were lit up on the Wee. 35 degrees out and sure enough the battery was too drained to turn it over, had to get jumped...
![]() Apparently I turned the ignition all the way round past lock to PE and pulled the key out. Is it normal for the key to come out of the ignition when in the PE setting? Never tried it before until today. Was daytime when I went into work so didn't notice the parking lights on.... |

Yep..... I did that once this summer. A friend even said, hey it looks like you left your lights on. Let an idiot I said "Nope, couldn't be". Came back out a few hours later and sure enough they were on.

I have a voltmeter and running lights on a fuse block that is relay triggered to the tail light wire. If I put the switch in Park, I get lights visible from any angle and the voltmeter beeps due to low voltage.

this is a frequent thing to me. I sometimes even forget to take the key out completely with it in the on position. greywolf's voltmeter beeping makes me wonder if it would be posible to hook up some type of tiny radioshack speaker that could do a single chime if the ignition hits the parking mode.

This is a pet peeve of mine about bikes in general. There should be an indicator light for when your ignition is turned to the ACC position. Cars have them. Bikes should too. It can't be a cost thing, just laziness in the design.
