I'm getting ready to pull trigger on 1 1/8 chub bars. The adapter says it raises bars by 3/4". My question is, can I install the ATV high bar, or will I have to go with CR bend to accommodate cable length. ATV has 4 3/4 height plus 3/4 for adapter. The CR bend is 1" shorter. I already have 1" risers with stock bars. That's as far as I can go without lengthening cables.
Looks like the stock bars are the same height of rise...4 3/4. So I'm hoping I can use the ATV high bar. I was hoping someone might have already done it, so I don't make an ordering mistake.
So I received my new bars today. Really like them. Look great and feel more substantial. Less vibration and an improved feel. 1 1/8 aluminum is so much nicer than 7/8" steel stockers. Best 70 bucks I've spent on the bike so far.
Yes I did. They are perfect. Very similar to stockers. I added the adapter which raised them an additional inch. Just pulled the trigger on the hand guards with additionally add in spoilers for extra wind protection in the cold weather. I can remove them in the summer.
Just ordered some from Jake Wilson website, free shipping over 75.00,they have the Handguards on there ,58.00 i think for the bigger ones,i will have to order those later, did you have any problem threading the bolts into the new risers?i was reading where some guys said the bolts were cheap? Happy Trails...
Good report and I'm sure they are a big improvement. I just may have to do that on my Gen I DL1000. Too bad I just ordered tires from Rocky Mountain 2 days ago. Would have liked to add these for free freight.
I found it at Doc's . The width is good at 30.5 (same as stock) but not enough pull-back for me at 2.4 inches. Stock pull-back is over 4 inches. That 2.4 inches sounds like too much forward lean for me.
What a pain installing D-flex hand guards. Got it done. Several hours of bending aluminum and moving hydraulic lines. Had my doubts that it would work. Final product turned out great though.
