Speedo With Gear Change....

When I changed the sprockets on my Vee to 16/43, the speedo was way fast...(i knew it would be)..

I just put a speedodrd from 12oclock labs on it last night, and used my GPS speed to calibrate it...It's now perfect.. Easy install, great product...

Me three!

The Speedo DRD is smaller and less expensive than the Speedo Healer. Mine has been flawless -- I think I've had it more than a year.

Hi

I have a couple questions...

What is the install process on this unit?

Using my gps, I have found my speedo to be fairly accurate up to about 45 mph. From there up it reads slow and around 60 actual it reads 55. If I install this and set the adjustment at 60 as it says to, will it throw off the speedo below 45 where it is about right?

It depends on what you mean by fix. The speedo is ~8% high in stock condition while the odo is ~2% high. Doing a fix for gearing won't change that relationship as the two can't be adjusted separately.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. 2012 DL650A is just getting started.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014+ DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012+ DL650s
See http://www.stromtrooper.com/general-...nicknames.html

The Speedo DRD and the Speedo Healer both do the same thing -- they simply intercept the signals coming from the speedo sensor and send out signals that are whatever percentage you set faster or slower.

It's a simple percentage alteration -- speedos are normally off by a certain percentage.

The correction widgets come with instructions for calculating the correction needed, and there's even a calculator on the maker's web sites. The easiest way by far is to go for a ride with a GPS installed and note the differences in the readings.
