The vee really likes a smooth throttle hand.

Thanks for the suggestion 2mstone. I have not. I really have not done anything except ride the Vee since I bought it. I'll add throttle cable slack to my list of things to do when I check the TPS. I have the shop manual and I bet the procedure and specs for throttle cable slack are included there.

Just ran the Vee for the first time through its full tank of gas. Got 322kms (200miles) out of it. Fillup took 19 litres so roughly 3 litres left in tank.

This was mainly highway at speeds topping out around 140-150kms (85mph? approx) for good long stretches.

I figure if I can get 200miles running like that, then if I stay at posted speeds then I'll get much better mileage.

Key words - IF I KEEP AT POSTED SPEEDS!!!!

If you can't find the adjustment instructions let me know and I'll look them up in my manual. I do remember it is very easy to do.

I have to clean my air filter here in the next few weeks, actually I have to find my air filter, I believe it is somewhere below the gas tank, I guess I can just follow the sounds of choking flies.

This year I've been pretty religious on my commuting schedule, 17 miles each way, I average between 45 - 95 mph and have yet to make it to 200 miles before fill up, however, I believe the most gas I've put in is 4.9 gallons.

I too, abstained from answering the poll.

There were three bikes on that trip, a Wee, a GS1200, and my Vee. Our figures were very close, but I got the best mileage, then the Wee, then the GS.

If my speed is below 70 my mpg is 45 to 50
the wee has to be 06 or before mine do 60 mpg. going 60/70-mph

I've never bothered to figure out our Wee's mpg either. I just know I fill it up every other time I fill up the Vee. Both bikes go plenty long on a full tank and I'm usually ready for the break when time for a fill up.

You're welcome for the clarification...

Modes that mean I'm a cross rider? I'm manly, but the Vee makes me feel pretty too. 😸
