Looking for reasonable side panniers for '03

I'm looking for some reasonably priced side panniers for an '03 I just picked up. They don't have to be pretty, just squared off and functional. Yes, squared, I can't stand the bubbly, rounded ones. I'm not too shabby with tools so any decent looking DIY options would be appreciated as well. Thanks!

Thanks, I've considered that. Can those be attached directly to the bike or will I need some type of rack?

There is no case that can be attached to V Strom without mounting racks.

Has anybody ever considered these? Bout the same dimensions as 20mm ammo cans (4"taller) but half the weight, and they come with a tray and locking lid! Not bad for $130 ($260 for a pair)

Check out Eric Nolan at Solobox. No website but you can find him on Facebook or reach him at 360-840-7139.

Mine were about $175 each when I bought them last year. He doesn't make mounting frames for the Vee yet, but you can adapt the boxes to fit almost any rack on the market. I used a set discontinued Givi frames that I found cheap on Ebay.

The top case is a Jesse that came with the bike - panniers are Solobox mounted on Givi Monokey racks with my own 'custom' hardware

Sethro.

Rampage Products 86619 Locking Trail Can Utility Tool Box $72 to $84.

I've got Sea Horse, Pelican like but cheaper. I used the factory racks for the oval bags you don't like.

check out Solobox. Was having a sale recently, panniers and brackets for $499.
I have oem panniers but if I had the spare cash I would have purchased a set. The guy is out of Mt Vernon, Wa. and has a page on facebook.

Some people just don't get how a 300+ mile round trip for lunch makes sense.
If you are reading this, you probably do.
