The sales droids at Ace (or any hardware store) are worse than useless when it comes to metric stuff. And yet they won't just go away and let me rummage in peace...

Many spark plug sockets have a 19mm end. Just push a short 3/8" extension through the "wrong" way and you've got the tool you can use with a standard ratchet handle.

I found them in the section of "Metric drawers" with one drawer marked "Coupling nuts". The salesman even let me use a 19mm wrench to check that I had the right one.

Thanks for the idea!

Unfortunately many of them won't accept the ratchet square drive from the other side.

I solved that though by grinding the socket off leaving the 19mm end, perfect for my ratchet. I believe the original spark plug socket was a 16mm.

This tool worked really well and it's really small to, for storage in the toolkit.

Very niiiiiice!

Once you start looking, 19mm and 3/4" hexagonal objects are everywhere...

I was at Rona (Local Hardware like Home Depot) and found them in the tool corral and found a 12mm and 19mm allen key.
