Well I just installed my Leo Vince, and I am IMPRESSED.

Wow. Awesome sound. And very flexible - baffles in, the volume level is literally stock as far as decibels are concerned. A little more "thud" on the bottom end, probably around 150hz or so. Sorry, musician/engineer, I refer to sounds by the frequencies I hear.

Baffles out, they sound like my brother's Yosh RS-3 pipe on his SV650. Not abrasive, not obnoxious, but definitely louder than stock and OH SO SWEET!! Nice, well-rounded tone, smooth, and not overly loud until you hit 6500+ rpms.

MZ - the baffles are literally one set screw. You do have to remove the initial ones with pliers or visegrips (the cans come with the baffles installed), but they even come with replacement stainless allen-head bolts. You simply loosen one small bolt per baffle (easily accessible under the pea-shooter) and it slides right out. Maybe 3 minutes tops to add or remove them. There is also a replacement screw to fill the hole where the bolt goes. Very classy system, and the build quality and finish is top notch. What sold me was the fact that *I* determine how loud these cans are. I even have the mystery discs if I want to play around with a 3rd baffling option. I can't see not being able to get the sound you want from these cans... whereas with every other manufacturer, what you get is what you get and better hope you like it!!

I'm sold. Leo Vince all the way. DAMMIT SNOW!!! GO AWAY! I want to hear these things out on the road, not just the garage!

Nice review. Where did you order them from, and did you need to file down one of the spacers or anything like that? Any pics of it installed you can hook us up with?

Actually I adjusted my install from the supplied directions. I saw no need for the double-hanger set up. Since the pipes are already bolted at the header pipe, the passenger pegs, AND the muffler hanger, I saw no need to mess with double hanger straps and gaskets, and my hunch was confirmed when I test-fitted them. I appreciate Leo Vince's attention to detail and almost "over-engineered" mounting system, but no other pipe I've ever seen uses two hangers. With just one hanger, they are rock solid and I see no need for more weight. That won't make much sense until you see the mounting system, but B will know what I'm talking about.

When I got the the left hand side, I could see right away what BigB and others have run into with that larger spacer. I ended up using an extra bolt washer thingie from one of the hangers I wasn't using. Again, that won't make sense until you get the bag of hardware. But it was the right size, almost identical to the shorter spacer and it lined up perfect on that left side.

The only thing I ran into, was having to loosen the left side passenger peg bracket a substantial amount in order to get enough play so I could thread the mounting bolt. Once I got that squared away, I was good to go. Super easy install, the fit is awesome. Looks like it was designed as stock.

The other thing I really like is the fact that the factory logo label is a sticker, and can be removed with some finger-grease. Leo Vince supplies metal brand-tags and rivets so IF YOU CHOOSE you can put a Yosh or 2bros style label on it. With the stickers removed, they look stock. I seriously doubt that with the baffles in and no stickers, anyone would ever be able to tell they weren't.

I ordered from Adventure Motostuff. Nice people, and great to deal with. I got the Stromtrooper discount - the pipes ended up costing $440ish? With free shipping! By far the best deal on pipes, IMO!!!

Awesome writeups...and you are oh so right on how nice they are! You think they look like "stock" without the stickers, and hardly anyone would notice? Now come on.....have you been breathing some funny smoke lately? I made the pic REALLY BIG so you can see it good!!!! I am tickled to death that you like them...wait till you hear them under a load, and above 6k!!!!!

Hmmm... looks pretty good, but actually I think I'd prefer to have the logo on there. How would you go about riveting that nameplate on?

With a rivot tool!!!!! Sorry could not help myself. I still have my metal nameplates, and may put them on eventually. Although I really like the clean look of no emblem.
