Gentlemen, I've been chasing a problem for a while. My 2008 DL1K runs great when it first starts up. But when it heats up to three bars the engine begins to mis-fire (cough, sneeze) through the air box. This happens most when I'm slowly moving through traffic at 45 mph or lower. Running above 4k rpm doesn't help as it seems to be related more to heat and a lightly loaded engine. At speed on the highway I don't have this problem. I've done a TPS check, a TBS, changed plugs & air cleaner. Bike runs smooth, it just has this annoying cough when the engine heats up. Any ideas?

When warm the enrichening is stopped soo you have the lean condition
My spirit guide says you have the intake boot loose off your throttle body. Sometimes he's wrong so the usual TPS and Throttle body Syncing, should clear it up

Checked the boots, both seated. Already done TBS. This has been a problem for a while. Thanks for the reply, though.

Some Vees seem to be just too lean in stock condition and need an external device or an EEprom rewrite to get a decent fuel map.

Grey, you really think this indicates a lean condition? I am using a Healtech FI Pro unit using their base map for the Two Brothers mufflers I am using. At speed this bike runs great. But in traffic at low speeds it mis-fires a lot.

It sounds like you need to richen the low rpm range.

I have a PC111 and run two bros carbon cans. When he gets hot in traffic, 3 bars stuck in traffic for a while hot, when I try accelerating away, theres often a hesitation and sometimes it stalls. This only hppens when it is really hot. Everything else is fine and I'm running 95 fuel so thats not an issue. You might have the same issue. I am used to stopping my old BMW in traffic and have been doing this a bit and it does help a little when I can see the lights and be ready for quick start ups and go then stop it again. Otherwise I have to blip the throttle everynow and then especially before moving off, but its loud and I don't like doing it too much.Maybe theres a way to re map the beast when hot idle is happening. If so, please let me know as i'm no computer wizz!

I'm going to tweak the low end of my FI Pro map and see if that helps. If it does I'll let you know!
