Yes, exactly. Totally agree!
Problem is, I live in Jersey where summers are hot and traffic is heavy.

The weather I can handle, but the traffic gets worse every year.
I used to ride a 155cc scooter to work and the when local town traffic would get so bad it would actually lock-up (simply not move), I would get off the bike and walk it home on the sidewalk.
Cant quite do that with a Vee or a 600 pound Harley, which is why a KLX250 may be in my future.

Sorry for the off-topic rant.

I needed to vent.

There is no video that shows this mod.
There is no way to do it without hacking into the harness.
There is not really enough room under the right fairing to do the double-connector trick you spoke of, however Eastern Beaver makes a similar device for killing your second headlight on a motorcycle thus proving that your double connector concept is indeed a good one.
I am in the process of trying to locate a source of Vee fan switch connectors and sockets but am having no luck as of yet... Fan Thermo Switch Connector.
So, if you don't mind hacking into a harness for which there are no replacement connectors available, I can whip up a quick hand drawn schematic and post it.

BTW: There is no elegant way to add this much copper & plastic to your harness. Once you start hacking and adding to your bike its, well... no longer a virgin and there is no way to go back.
Kind of like getting a tattoo.

If you really want to do surgery, and you are new at this stuff, (I'm assuming you are), then your life will be a lot simpler (and cheaper) if I assemble a fan switch kit and send it to you via a PM.
The components I use are harsh environment/high-end, not Radio Shack crap.
Just sayin'

Lol, funny you should mention tattoo's as I have more than I could count (Both arms, bothlegs, chest, ribs, and some back- you're right there's no turning back). I do agree however about the hacking of the wire harness and will think on this one for a while. As I like the idea of having a seperate switch for the fan and LED's I don't know if I'm ready to cross that line as of yet. Thanks for the good info and insight though and I will let ya know if I have a change in heart

Speaking of which... (um, fans not tattoos)...
I was at my local Suzuki dealer today asking about thermo switch connectors.
The parts guy said he could probably get the right connector if he knew what to look for.
I told him that next week I could hand him a new fan sensor so he could go in the back and search for a connector that would fit the thing.

I should have my new (slightly cooler) fan sensor from Australia next week. When it comes in I'll go back to searching for a connector/adapter so it would be possible for me to fabricate a device that would simply connect in-line with your existing equipment. (Your original idea).
This method would negate the need to cut into your harness. It would be a plug & play fan switch mod (with LEDs too). It would be a bit bulky, but very simple to remove if you don't like it.

Would like to get this done before Christmas since in-laws, alcohol, and over-time always seem to distract me from such projects during the holidays.

Hahaha, darn alcohol and family due tend to distract. If you land a good set-up with the fan switch connectors thingy let me know- that is if you're interested in making a few bucks and want to get another prototype on the road
