The speedo is about 8% optimistic. That's how percentages work. The lower the speed the lower the error. Dial in the 8% for stock gearing or the proper amount for altered gearing and it will be fixed across the board. Of course the odometer will read a bit low after that because it is only 2% high in stock condition.

How do you install speedoDRD? Do you need to pull the fuel tank off? I just wen to 16/43 gearing

Find the connector from the speedo sensor. Chances are it is accessible from the left side of the bike. That connector is separated and the speedoDRD has two connections that plug right in to the two halves of that separated stock connector.

'12 DL1000
I found my connector at or near the front of the idle adj tucked in up there (Left side) without taking anything off. I ran the unit to in front of the battery and zip tied it there. Easy easy install...but I had to read the instruction book a few times to comprehend how to program it. I just switch (8.4% correction) back to stock gearing today from 17/42s (10% correction) because 90% of my daily ride is on a Interstate. Well worth the money.

Can anyone please confirm that the transmission sprocket nut is 31mm on a Vstrom 1000

Been a few months.......90% sure it is a 30mm.

It's 32mm or 1-1/4" and I'm positive.
