So, like many Vees mine stutters and farts at low RPMs. Don't like the idea of spending a few hundred on a PCV.

I was discussing this with the dealer and he told me he could do the yosh thing for $25. Sounds good, but there's an issue. Dealer told me it's ment for the 16 bit ECU's 2002 - 2008. He said it should work on my 2012, but my ECU is 32 bit, so the results could be unpredictable.

Does that make sense? I don't know enough about it to know if he's right or wrong.

He also said that Suzuki might be issuing a recall or map update. Anybody hear that?

16 Bit ECU's were only used in 2002-2003. The ECU's became 32-bit in 2004 (Link)

I am sure many people have used the Yosh Box on 2004+ bikes.

As for a recall or a map update I find that highly unlikely, given that there have been issues since day one and Suzuki have done nothing (well, they have made changes but riders with modern bikes are still having issues, such as yourself). With a redesigned Vee coming out in a year or two I find it even more unlikely.

If you think you migh ever want to mess around wtih a new exhaust system or air filters, a PCV offers much more flexibilty and will let you play with the mapping yourself to your hearts content.

I have an 03 and used a Yosh Box on it and my DIY box with no issues.

I think your mechanic is being overly cautious (good thing!) but in this instance, I know tons of people have used Yosh Boxes on all versions of the bike.

At $25 bucks, you can't beat that with a stick.

I just took my 2012 Vee into the dealer with the stated surging issues and they did the Yosh "fix" free of charge. Warranty of sorts as a new bike should not be stumbling.

Bike runs well, mileage has not been affected.
