Default engine sputtering

Hi guys after being rear ended i've experienced a little bit of engine sputtering. I've recently changed to irridum plugs and thought maybe I improperly gapped them. after pulling them out and doing it again I've confirmed they are within spec. The only other thing i've done was an oil change about 2 weeks ago.

The only thing i can think of is maybe the muffler on the one side got crunched a little bit and is causing this slight bit of choking. Sometimes the engine will actually stall at idle. any ideas are appreciated.

Typically this is a sign of a bad TPS sensor on the VEE, about an 80 dollar part.

SEAFOAM

Sync the throttle bodies before swapping parts.

TPS wear out or get dirty they are simple potentiometers

Can you say with some confidence that the bad running started after being in the accident?

If so, then gas, spark plugs, oil, etc. probably are not the problem. The exhaust system is a possibility if it's really squashed, but not my #1 guess.

The impact could have dislodged your throttle body boots. Those are the intake "manifolds" that connect each cylinder to the fuel injection system. You have to pull the tank to get a good look at them, and you need to actually take hold of them to see if they're well and truly tight.

How bad was the accident, was it a light tap, did you get smacked hard, did the bike fall hard?

I would agree with Kenneth. Take a look see under the tank at the TB's and anything else that may have been displaced.
If the sputtering did not begin immediately after the accident, then your diagnosis will take a different direction.

Put the bike in dealer mode, and check the tps, your dash will show C00 and a line in front of it, the line should be in the middle

-c00, if the line is at the top or bottom your tps in out of synch

type in "tps check dl1000" in the google search bar on this page will give you instruction on the dealer mode
