I think that Badtraindriver had the exact same issue once, just can't remember what/where his was actually leaking. Looked like it was leaking in once place, where it was actually leaking somewhere else and the oil was collecting where it looked like it was leaking. Confused yet......

There is a round cover(with the hex shape) to the side cover that doesn't have a great seal. Oil can seap out over time. People advise that you can try different O-rings or use a sealant there to stop the leak. I was also advised that you can take the smaller cover off without the oil running out as the sump is lower, etc. if you want to make the adjustment right away.

Any solution to your problem yet. I have a similar issue. Think it may be the clutch push rod seal, but I want more possibilties to explore.

went to replace the clutch rod seal. who put a metal retainer in there and then made me bend it all up trying to get the seal out?

looked at online micro-fish and could tell what part it is. please tell me that i don't have to take off the counter sprocket to get the retainer off.
