Default Hazzard light on Dl1000 k3?

Hi All !

I recently got my bike and I was dissapointed it did not have "hazzard lights"... is this common or it's just my bike?

I noticed a little cover on the left handlebar-switch, is this perhaps the place where it should be?

How hard will it be to install it? I noticed the previows owner installed a switch in the "dash area" so I could use that one, but I would really like to see where it really should be...

Thoughts?

Yep that's where the switch goes alright, I'm sure you could do a factory looking job by sourcing a switch from local Suzuki parts distributor, however dunno costs involved. Also you'll have the wait for those around here that know more than me as I'm unsure if you'd have to change flasher unit, etc.

Good luck.

I have the same thing on my K3, I believe we are also missing a flash to pass switch on the back side of the left bracket.

Ok so it's normal.. Will look on Ebay to see if I'm lucky..

I wonder if the wiring is already done or if one should start from scratch..

Thanks guys

I found one but it's from a 650 2009.. and it's totally different..

the hazard light is at the right, and the high/low beam at the left..

not sure if it will fit ..

Default Very interested in update to switchgear

I have a 2003 model as well and have been looking for the same solution of swapping out the switchgear with correct Suzuki parts to make the flash to pass and hazards work. Any luck so far? I was thinking it might take getting parts from the "Euro" bikes to make it work.

Oh... so it comes like that from Factory? I thought it was only my bike..

Well, I did not order the parts.. a guy installed a switch and now it works the hazzard lights ! But I would like the switch in the handlebar as it should be

If you hear something let me know !

The flash to pass switch only works in Europe... It is not compatible with the US drivers.... i ve tried it several times in the US without any luck...

Click it several times but slow drivers seem to be stuck on the left lane for some reason... may be mine is defective. specially those hybrid cars, they must have some sort of filter on the mirrors !

I spoke with a guy who has a flash to pass on his Wee, he said you have to be running low beams and hold the switch for 1/2 a second or more.
