Default Why is 2006 worth more?

From Motorcycle Consumer News 2009 Summer price guide.

I found it interesting the 2006 is valued higher than the 2007. Outside of color I thought the only change was clear turn signals. The red does look great, but I didn't think it was valued so high.

The only year they offered the red is 06, ergo the higher price.

Yeah, but why the big drop on the 04 compared to other years?

I agree that it probably is due to the color scheme offered only in that year. Although I do like the red I don't like that they only painted the tank and tank covers red and left all else black. I wished that they had included the rear side covers when they sprayed the red paint. I think it would have looked much better.

The cousin of the guy doing the evaluation has an 06' for sale. lol

We all know that the prices of bikes are related to what the bike is worth to you, condition of the bike, type of riding you've set it up for and how good a slaes man you are. Oh, and where your add is on craigs list.

It's obvious the orange shading causes some years to loose their value more than the white-background years. This chart is odd.

MCN claims to report prices actually paid. The known problem with the K4 ECU and the
popularity of the RED colored K6 may explain the $ anomalies.

It's 'cause the red '06s are the fastest and best of the Stroms, thus highly desirable.
