Hello everyone. I need some suggestions.
I'm 6'4" and I like ride off road and off course sometime I need to ride standing up. I need to find a way to lower my pegs. Any ideas?? |

Wouldn't lower the pegs myself. When I had my thou it was reasonably easy to scrap them in the twisty stuff so I think you would create a dangerous situation for yourself.
Maybe you could raise the bars either by changing them or using risers? |

I'm the same height as you. While I don't ride off-road, I wanted more room between the seat and pegs to unfold my knees a little, and I DO stand up on the pegs a lot to stretch out on long rides/ absorb shock over train tracks and bumps.
I put the tall SW Motech risers under the stock bars. Pretty comfortable now. Instead of lowering the pegs, I got the Suzuki "tall touring saddle" and it has made a noticeable difference. I can still easily flat-foot it. |

I'm 6'4" too, the tall Suzuki seats helps. The seat is also much more comfortable. I have bar risers but have not bothered to put them on yet.

Thank you all for your suggestions, I did raise the handlebars (Touratech makes them) and the problem is not when I ride sitting on the bike or when I want to stretch my legs. My problem is riding standing up off road. When I stand I'm not in a comfortable position which mean I don't feel fully in control of the bike, I have problems control the bike because I'm not "well set" on the pegs.
I rode a KTM once which the guy raise the handlebar and lower the pegs and I was feeling very confident and that is what I want when I ride the V. Please let me know and thank you again |

I bet the ktm had more ground clearance to start with. As was said before, the vee already touches down way to easily and lowering the pegs will only make it worse.

Here's the $60 answer to your question:
http://tinyurl.com/puyulo Its up to you to decide whether you'll be scraping too much peg. Bob |

I added Buell Ulysses pegs and that required lowering both shifter and brake pedal--a chore, but I have it done so that it fits well, pegs are about 1" lower. I scrape pegs only a little, and have to be cornering so hard as to be riding dangerously on the road. If you do track days, you may find these pegs too low. On the street they are definitely NOT too low.
I am 6' 6" and need every inch of legroom to be comfortable, so I also added the Suzuki Tall seat. It is tall enough, but I may still go with a custom seat by Spencer or perhaps one of my own making to add width and firmness. A custom seat by Corbin might work, but it would be fairly expensive. I find the hardness of a Corbin seat is its best feature. For me at least. |

I made brackets to lower the whole assembly. It lowered the pegs about 1.45" and moved them forward by 1.5". I used 1/4" scrap steel. I haven't scrapped the pegs, yet.I've put 1500 miles on the setup. I stole the idea. I have posted pictures. BTW anyone in Houston have a mill and know how to use it? I would like to clean up my brackets a bit. It would take about 5-10 minutes.
I met a 650 Strommer here in Houston. He had ULyie pegs. It looked great. He's about 6'2". It moved the pegs a bit forward. He told me he could scrap the pegs. Les |
