Default How was your first ride of the season?

Changed my oil and filter, lubricated my chain, attached my Garmin and off I went grinning ear to ear.....Less then an hour later after riding in the cold wind, my allergies were making my eyes water, sneezing, I was tired. I rode home...
Well.. I did change both my bike and car oil and filters, and I fumbled with the nuts and bolts of the skid guard lying on my cold garage floor. I looked stupid sitting at stop lights sneezing. I have to rebuild my endurance for riding still.
Getting old sucks!!
BUT I HAD A GREAT TIME

Default a nice break

the weather finally broke. after changing a front brake caliper on the car, I put the front tire back on the bike (with new trail attack) and found I had the time to get out for a little shakedown. after 5 months of sitting, less than 2 seconds on the starter button and there was one of the most beautiful sounds, if only it was nicer and warmer. it turned in to a 2 hour ride that included just a bit of slush. the electrics were on the entire time, but it was mostly sunny and a nice start to the season.
its snowing like a bugger now, to be continued soon enough...

Was out yesterday (+15 here in MB) for my first real ride of the year. Put on about 400km and it was great!

Today it is snowing.....

Cheers

Same here. It felt great riding again!
Did 50 km and left my Vee at the dealer for 12K service + rear tire change.

I forgot about that moment in my garage, the sound of the engine gives me a rush...sweet sweet music to my ears.

THAT is not "getting old"! Old is what you are when you don't get out and ride.

So get out there and ride. Once upon a time, I set out from Florida on April 15.
The weather was sunny & hot. I went past a beach; nobody was swimming.

As I went through Georgia and South Carolina I passed some pools.
Some folks were basking and tanning; nobody was swimming.

I went across a lovely lake in North Carolina. The weather
was warm and sunny, but nobody was swimming. Nobody.

In Virginia and West Virginia, it was chilly. Nobody was near a pool.

In Pennsylvania, it was windy and chilly. All the pools were covered.

In New York, there was a lot of snow on the ground,
and nobody showed any interest in being outdoors.

I crossed the Peace Bridge and went slowly north on the
Niagara Parkway, obeying the 60 kph limit.

A motorboat was cruising on the Niagara River, amid the snow flurries.
I do not need to tell you which side of the river it was on.

It was towing a water skier.

Hot damn! That's the spirit! Don't lose it!

Keith

Nothing like a Spring ride to let you know how the bike feels in a crosswind. On the other hand, it let me know that the new fork brace was worth the money.
