Hoping to make it to the IX V Srom gathering, and then ride the BRP north and check out Colonial Williamsburg. Quebec in August and drop down to the NE V-Strom rally.
Of course it all depends on the cat sitting.

Here's a hint about getting into Williamsburg VA. Generally, it's a pain, because the city is well surrounded by expressways, but there is a way to sneak in, missing all the congestion. Aim for Scotland VA, then take the ferry from there to Williamsburg. Because you are approaching from the south, this will work very well for you.

Enjoy your ride; Virginians are friendly.

Keith

Planning an Iron Butt mid to end of June. Other than that, we'll probably stick close to home if the Missus is going to work on her license.

Default A superior ride

I plan to do a ride around Superior this August. Will divert up to a bush camp I worked at for many years near Thunder Bay that is 2 hrs up an old logging road. Access is sketchy now since they have not been hauling logs and not maintaining the roads for many years. Should be an adventure off the beaten path. Last summer was the Trans Lab.

I don't know...I've had pretty good trips into Williamsburg from the north, through Gloucester Point. My grandparents owned a home in Urbanna, VA and we would make almost weekly trips there for sightseeing and shopping.

Either way will work. But if you're coming in from the south anyway, Keith's recommendation is better.

Default Mount Desert Island ME

Well, I have wanted to meet Barry (aka Black Lab) for a while, and it seems that 2011 will be the year, and I think the week after Canada Day will be just perfect. Lots of heat, lots of hungry mosquitoes, and long sultry evenings.

Barry's Wee-Strom looks nothing like yours and mine,
and if it evolves a warp drive, we will never find it.

I will invite a friend with whom I have been riding since the Diefenbaker era!
I know, a lot of you are saying WHO??? This was before you were in diapers.

And maybe there is room in this expedition for a third.
Let's imagine departing GTA on July 4 about noon.
Lets expect a three-day ride to Bar Harbor Maine,
about three days there, and a three-day ride back,
with maybe an extra day or two in Québec.
Anyone interested?

Keith

Hey Keith: Let me know your itinerary, I'll try to drop down from P'bro to say hello if you're traveling across southern Ont. (401ish) Oh and by the way, WHO wasn't Dief, Who was Joe Bob...
