Default Importing a US bike to your Canadian Home!

I just finished up this process a few weeks back and learned sooooo very much about how to do it. There are some spectacular deals out there so don't be afraid to pick one up and bring it home. Waaay easier than you thing. Very little of this:

I'll post how I did it if people are interested....I just don't want to type it all up unless somebody is going to use the info.

I'd be interested. Don't need a bike know but who know what comes up in the future.

A friend of mine says that Canada's national sport isn't hockey: it's smuggling.

There may be more then a bit of truth to that.....

Ontario people, remember you are now going to get HST at the boarder and the cost RIV is increased as well.

If you do write up a step-by-step, do it in a new thread.

I'll sticky it and there won't be all this drivel, er, discussion included.

Default Here are some footsteps for you.

http://www.gtamotorcycle.com/vbforum...ead.php?t=1038

I have not studied the above, but I know a thing or two about getting a trailer
kit from, for example Harbor Freight, and getting an Ontario plate onto it.
I will not add to the noise level by posting that stuff here, unless invited.
I also know a thing or two about buying a CBR125R in Ontario and getting
it properly licensed here in Florida. I do not think Uncle Sam got into the
act at all; Florida was mainly interested in getting fees, then here's your
plate, pal, have a nice day.

I hope you enjoy your new ride, bluerocker. Alberta is a very fine place to
ride a motorcycle. Now do you think you can smarten up Edmonton's Eskimos?

Keith

I purchased mine in Seattle and imported it to BC....I can possibly add to the material with some BC specific information. There is also a fairly intensive thread on ADV on importing with lots of pointers.
