Hi Guys/Gals,

Just wanted to let you know that I started a V-Strom Owners Club of Canada a little over a year ago. We now have over 200 members from coast-to-coast and around the world.

The vast majority of our members are located in Southern Ontario and we generally meet the first Saturday of each month all year long. Some up coming events include; how to do your own valve checks, how to use Garmin Basemaps and when the weather improves we have some great rides planned as well as some over night camping trips.

If you are interested please subscribe to this thread and I will be posting up comming events here, if you are on Facebook, we also have a dedicated Facebook page located at; https://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/628769030487644/

Thanks, please message me if you have any questions.

Just came across this thread today. I will attempt to get to as many Saturdays as possible, however since I retired 10 yrs ago I seem to be way busier than when I had a full time job! Have tried to join the FB group but don't know if it worked, I didn't seen any indication one way or another after clicking the join group button.

Did a 49 day trip last summer from Oshawa through the northern US, up the BC interior to The Yukon and Alaska and back to the 'Shwa. Had a great time. Don't know how much riding I will get in the summer as I'm volunteering at the PANAM/ParaPAN games.

I will mark the first Saturday of the month on my calendar, I am already committed fro the February date.

Just went back to the page on FB and clicked the join group button and got a pending status this time, so should be OK.

Lots of pictures, even ones in the HD museum in Milwaukee. Could try and throw something together at some point.

I'm Confused

Ok, does this mean the SW Ontario group is history, and we're going with this link instead? I'm on the Facebook page thingy already, although I don't do much 'facing' :yesnod: Great to keep in touch with any meeting or rides coming up this summer, 2015..... hope it's going to be warm and dry and sunny!

Hi Forest Cop, yes, please use this thread moving forward. I will be posting our monthly events on here as well as the Facebook page. We typically get together the first Saturday of the month.

FEBRUARY MEETING - SATURDAY FEB. 7th, @11:00 a.m.

Ok everyone, our next meet and greet will be next Saturday, Feb. 7th starting at 11:00 a.m. We had a bit of an issue securing a guest speaker for this event so we will be changing things up a little. The Toronto members have stepped up to the plate and have organized the venue in Toronto this time round at Maple Leaf Grill & Lounge - 2749 Lake Shore Blvd West, Etobicoke. The format for this event will be very casual, a meet & greet, lunch, and if you want to bring along your the tool kits you carry on your bikes along with any roadside "Mcqiver fix" stories you may have. Hope to see you all there, perhaps some new faces too.

Our next meeting is scheduled for Saturday, March 7th @ 10:00 a.m. The location will be at Darrin's workshop (behind the house) at 14114 4th Line in Acton. I think this will prove to be a real interesting tech day - special thanks to both Bob and Darrin they will be showing us how to do a valve check on our bikes - I'm expecting a strong turn out for this event, so mark it in your calendars. I will also be sending out an event reminder too.

T-Shirts.... We will be doing a small batch of shirts to see how we like them before rolling them out to the rest of the members.
So here is the deal, we will be asking anyone one that wants them to pre-order them at the March meeting - we will only be accepting cash. The shirts will be available in mens cut black only with a 2 colour logo, as per the sample picture. Prices are as follows; short sleeve sizes small to XL will be $15.00 and XXL will be $20.00 - long sleeve shirts sizes small to XL will be $20.00 and XXL will be $25.00. Pre-orders for these shirts must be made in person with cash at the March 7th meeting in Acton - we will not be taking any orders that involve shipping at this time - we still need to figure that one out. We may also have some news on the stickers by then too.

ive been reading Steve Abbot's book the last few days. its a good read, if you are not just a bar hopping around the city type biker and one that really does tour............ you will truly appreciate his perspective and his funny anecdotes. Hope to meet Steve one day, give him a hearty hand shake and buy him a beer. I recommend that everyone read it

we did a fall colour ride last year, it was a great ride, except we did it in one day. Windsor thru Detroit up I-75 to almost mackinaw city and then back down M119. the only bad part.................. at 7am driving up, everytime we hit a part of 75 that was low compared to the rest of the road, the windshields froze right up, it was wicked cold in the morning, but a great trip overall
