Default Goodbye to the Vee

After thinking about down sizing for awhile I finally did it and now own a new 2012 .DL650. Picked it up today, Fox Orange, touring package with Givi Trekker panniers and top box, swmototech crash bars, bash plate and centre stand, Givi airflow screen and optional taller seat should be here Monday.
So tomorrow will be a farkling day getting things ready for our Friday departure to Tassie
Photos to come.
Already booked in for the 1000k service on Tuesday so will probably rain all weekend

Cheers

Hi Vman,

Good to see you're keeping it in the family

Look forward to checking it out in Tassie, hope the rain stays away for you.

Default Farkles

Have transplanted most of the farkles from the Vee today
Wired up gps ,heated grips, 12v outlet and installed rox risers , tool tubes
Hopefully the rain will stay away for a ride tomorrow.

Well done V,a special feeling on a new bike--jeez I hope the weather sorts out ok for you blokes up there--the net says they are releasing lots from dams in expectation of serious rainfall and Bundy is in for another hiding poor buggers don't need that.

Default First ride

Went for a spin today to clock up some k's for the first service on Tuesday. Done about 300 and will try and get another 400 in tomorrow.
First ride has me impressed, apart from the obvious differences of power, size, fuel consumption etc i did notice that the heat from the motor can be felt more. Totally happy with the down size so far and have the feeling this bike is going to be surprising me for awhile yet. It is a more relaxing ride & just have to get my arse use to the narrower seat.

Cheers

Congrats on the new wee-strom V-man

I went over to the Triumph dealer on my break this morning just to checkout the new Trophy tourer (very nice bike but heavy) and also had a sit on the triumph 1200 and 900 adventurers as well as the BMW equivelents at the same shop (Brysons newcastle) and then got back on my 2007 wee-strom and instantly fell in love again for my ride...I won't be updating too soon...that's for sure!!

cheers

Wobb,I do the same occasionally on time off,I have perused the new Trophy, the 800 xc tiger--the gambit of what is out there--I am surprised that the fraternity can see a market for big bore adv bikes, maybe the Beemer set the bench mark, there is a 1200 Tenere in the local shop that has been there fore ever and possibly will be,there is nothing on the market at the moment that would make me trade up.
