Only one question.. Does anyone know if it was QLD'rs or New South Welshmen who put a concrete barrier across the border????

I did some measurements... at full compression a tool tube will hit the chain guard, a rider on our dirt run to Crookwell this weekend lost his rear chain guard screw this weekend too... hmmm.

If I had to choose between a chain guard and a tool tube, the chain guard is going in the bin. (thats probably an argument for another nit picky thread though)

Might have to ride north that way one day soon

Thanks to SteveC for organising a bloody great weekend. Had a very enjoyable time as always when in the company of fellow strommers.
The weekend has given me a lot more confidence on dirt and the skills to build on to allow me to do what I wanted to do with the bike. The accident responce training however short was a valuable lesson and hopefully one I will never have to use.
However Steve I dont think you have turned me to the dirt side yet,I think I will still be mainly a black top rider, but the skills will allow me to explore down that dirt road to a lookout,waterfall or whatever.
Now before people jump all over that comment I bought the bike as a tourer because like many here it was value for money,reliable and comfortable. Its the ride that makes it all so enjoyable along with the people you meet not where you ride.
If the swap to the 650 happens it may change my outlook but dont thats not the plan.

And just as a matter of interest Gotawee only managed to take 210 photos over the weekend!!!!

Thanks for the report and photos. Looks like you all had a great time. We are so lucky to live in this beautiful part of the world. I did a ride with our Ulysses club along that Murwillumbah to Nerang Rd a couple of months ago and came across a head on crash between a bike and some scooters riders. Two dead a lot hurt. One of our people is an ambulance officer and he stopped to help. The police told him there is always bike accidents on this road. That no doubt explains why the police were out in force on that stretch of road.
