Hi All,
I have been reading rather than posting for a while now, and finally I think I need some advice. I have been looking at a 2011 wee (no abs) that is brand new, out of the box, for around $8000. It will be my second bike and mainly used for touring, so I will need some farkles to go with it. So here are my questions: 1. Is this a good price for the strom? I do like the idea of a new bike that hasn't been used/abused by anyone else, but am I paying too much? 2. What is a basic list of extras? I want to tour and camp, so storage will be necessary. I was thinking: crash bars, bark busters, radiator screen/bash plate, givi top box and panniers. Am I missing lots? Thanks in anticipation. |

To help put it in perspective, I paid 10g on the road ( with centre stand and crash bars thrown in ) for my '11 non ABS in march of this year, so @ 8g I couldn't be pulling the money outa my pocket fast enough.

Welcome , 8g is a great price won't get any better. You can find the 2012 mod for around 10g but you still have to get all your extras. My suggestion is to try both models and decide from there, if your fine with the older model go for it!! I'm looking for new bike at the moment and if I can afford it I will go the new model but would have never had any need to upgrade if my bike didn't break

At 8g, I could even be tempted myself. Have they got any more? Colour?
Only question for you would be "Is the 12 a $2K better bike than the 11?" And remember that $2k buys lotsa farkley schmarkelys. Sounds like a deal to me , grab it and enjoy IMHO. Cheers...Tony |

It's a two year old bike that is the previous model with no ABS. When the fan boys put their rational hats on instead of their tinted glasses they will tell you that it's probably only worth $6k if you were to try to sell it.
Personally I would pay more for the current model unless I had no intention of selling within the next 4-5 years at least. |

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I would be looking to keep the bike for a long time, so I think I will go ahead with it. I believe they have about 8 of them in boxes that they bought when the model got superceded. Black and Grey colours. I will let you know where when I have bought one.
