I was Vstrom shopping in March of this year. Although I ended up with the Vee I was originally looking at a 2010 Wee with about 15,000km for $8000, and there were signs it had been dropped but it was still a tempting deal. I would have been happy with the deal if I decided to go ahead with it.
So if you are into the old style Vstrom (which I am !) I think $8K for a brand new 2011 is a fantastic deal and if it had been in my neck of the woods I would be riding a Wee right now. |

I hear you Kiwi re the resale & non ABS etc, but for my use of my Wee, the idea of a new bike that I can easily transfer all my farkles on to is still attractive. A keeper Wee brand new to me at $8g could really suit me. (apoloogies to any poets on the forum).

Let us know the exact monies you pay "out the door" There all sort of prices proferred, it is the otd price that counts.
$8000 otd is a bargain. gg@bb, ava good day |

Hello Middo. One thing you are missing from your farkle list is a fork brace. I think this is about the best thing I've added to my Wee. It improved the Wee handling as far as I'm concerned. There are a few brands but I went with the Rick Richlands one and I'm more than happy with the quality and service from him. You might also have a look at his mirror extenders as well, They let you see what's going on behind you instead of looking at your shoulders in them. Put his name in the search box and you will find him. All the best

+1 on Richland Rick fork brace & mirror extenders (which can incl. a hole for RAM mounting of GPS if that is your thing). Got and love 'em both. Tks...Tony |

So, I ended up buying a 2011 Vstrom,
new out of the box for $8500 ride away, with 6 months CTP paid. The $8000 price I could only get if I was buying 2, but the finances couldn't quite stretch that far today. Maybe next year we will get another Vstrom for the matching pair.I will be taking delivery next week sometime, and it's first ride will be 450km home from Perth the Geraldton. |

If you are coming to Perth and are interested I have some farkles I'm wanting to get out of my shed
Came off a 2011 Wee Suzuki hand guards (missing rubber boot - I forgot to take it off the old bike - that goes over clutch adjuster near lever but should be able to make something out of what I have lying around. Also has some small scratches from LLD in carpark) RR fork brace RR foot peg lowering brackets SW-M engine guards (Has some paint removed from LLD in carpark) SW-M sump guard SW-M centerstand SW-M radiator guard Givi pannier brackets (no panniers) Suzuki topbox mounting hardware (no topbox. Need to confirm about adapter plate fitting new stuff so it may or may not be available) I think that's all of it Happy to help out with fitting PM me if interested and I can send some pics and stuff |

So an update. I ended up with two wee's. The first one was to be the missus bike. She rode it from Perth to Geraldton, with me behind on my vstar. As I slowly got off with a really sore bum at home, she asked if I wanted to ride into town (about 40 kms) just for some fun. Then she looked at me and we decided to buy a second wee. They are pictured below (I hope).
![]() We have not yet got into touring much, just a day trip or two. We are waiting for it to cool down a bit as it has been over 36 for a week now, and 41 again today. Waiting for Autumn... |

It's amazing what a sore arse can do for the hip pocket. Seats on bikes have cost me a small fortune, now transferring the AirHawk to everything with it a 1200 km day was OK without it 150 kms was the range.
Your bikes look good together I got off a 2004 1000 and bought a 2012 DL650 since late August it has done over 16000 kms no problems at all.
