Welcome to the world of the Wee Strommers.
I'm also a relative newcomer, also in the west of Melbourne (Werribee). I'm the opposite to most - I have time during the week, but little time over the weekend. There are quite a few around who do have weekends available and they will pop up soon. Have fun! Doug

Welcome to this site Armett, you are in the right place to meet fellow minded enthusiasts. You should have little trouble finding group rides in which you can join in. Answers to any questions you may have on your Strom will surely be found here too.
Join in and post often. Saturn 5 |

thanx guys.
i am actually not after group rides.done that once and that was my very last. too many young and bold people with racing bikes makes you think twice next time. we rode all day but somehow couldn't see nothing because riding from A to B fastest way was what these guys passion.i was spouse to be cruising.but got very bad body ache instead. 2 or 3 people, maybe group of 4 is most ideal. |

They are more interested in keeping the licence in check so they can go touring on tar & gravel, do a bit of camping and like to hop off often to take pics and just take in the veiws and smell the roses type of riders...well most are anyway...there are some hard core dirt riders amongst them but they've gone more to the larger dirt adv bikes. I won't even bother trying to compete with Rossi & Stoner wanna-bes...Most of those guys are good for 150-200kms and they're knackered ![]() Cheers wobbly_boot Dave |

Hi,
My name is Mariusz most people call me Mario. after not riding on a bike for over 20 years I decide to do it again. I picked over month ago brand new 2012 WEE, what a difference compere to what I was riding on 20 years ago (LOVE IT). I will be interesting like other members to ride with someone from time to time. I am located on a West of Melbourne in Williams Landing just by Point Cook. Glad to be a part of WEE family. |

Hi,
Rather than start another 'new member' post I though I'd just drop into this one as an intro. Just bought an '08 1000 Strom mainly for commuting from home to Sydney for work each week. What a tool! Bit of a difference from my old Super Ten back in '93. Be interested to know if there's any other Strommers out and about, I see wobbly boot's in Newcastle, which I pass each week, so if there's an opportunity for a meet up and a natter I'm in. Also seen the Tassie gathering post and the xmas overnighter, both of those look appealing too. Anyway, happy to keep on readin around the forum, seems like a fantastic source of info and a big help in solving the excessively noisy screen someone's fitted to my bike... ByeFerNow Dean |

Hehehe thanks for the thumbs up Chops...don't get many of them these days
Dean....welcome to a great forum....about once a Month, theres a few of us around the Newcastle area meet up and go for a day's ride. The last one about 2 weeks ago was great...we had 4 Stroms, one being a 1000 like yours and we did about 360K's with about 50/50 dirt & bitumen roads. The dirt is just gravel roads which are in reasonably good condition and you can sometimes fly along them just as fast as bitumen except for the corners. Anyway, We're hoping to squeeze one of those rides in before Xmas and I'll be placing the event up here as usual so keep your eye on the forum. We were hoping to do a 2 day weekend ride in November and it's still on the cards...one of the guys goes away on another ride next weekend so when he comes back....We'll see what happens. Cheers wobbly_boot |

wobbly,
Sounds like a great idea for a catch up, I'll keep looking out for your post. I come down to Sydney from up on the Bulga Plateau each week so the Strom's getting a fair hammering on the k's. The 20 odd km from around my place to the tar is all dirt so am getting familiar with NSW unsurfaced roads, had my first bump with a wallaby on monday, right under the front wheel, luckily no damage to me or the bike, cant say the same for Skippy - he was done for... Look forward to meeting up for sure BFN Dean |
