Following on to M.L.'s thread, I propose an o'nighter on Saturday Nov. 24th and Sunday 25th. V-Chops P.M.ed me with a map he thought would fit and it is exactly what I had in mind.
Don would you post that map up here for those who don't know the area?

I'm away from the computer till next Monday. Anybody wanting to join in can indicate so here, even if they cannot be definite at this point in time. Accommodation will be organised in the coming weeks I'm sure there will be a suitable spot for those who want to camp somewhere close to town. I'll probably need a real bed although I'd love to camp.

I'm meeting my brother at Temora this weekend to watch the air display. The old Sabre will be among those flying. Back on Monday.

Still some good pics there...

It was good timing to get a decent weekend ride in before all the Christmas parties and work break up functions start next month and we get home in time to find our tree & Christmas lights that will go up next weekend.
All going well with work and funds I will see you next year.

WWA (Wardys Weekend Away) was a lot of fun !

p.s. I might even have one or two more farckles

I'm rapt to see the great images of the trip and a great bunch of Strommers having a good time. I just can't get it right as I have missed all the gatherings and now this. I'm sorry I could not find time to chat to you all for much time at Richmond but I'm pleased the ride went well, no offs and all were happy. I must say special G'day again to Thunder Downunder who traveled all the way from QLD to join in (and no disagreements with Chops over State of Origin )

Thanks Don for the proposal, I accept. So mark the calendar for November Sat 23rd and Sunday 24th for the next ride ( to Crookwell again?) and this time I will be there!!! I think the route seemed to cover some interesting country with a little but easy dirt added to the mix. Some nice country town too.

Don, thanks for the PMs. I can't open them yet but I will soon.

I've had so many changes of mind on selling the Strom, but every time I come good ,I then know I just can't, .... so it stays and no more changing of mind, at least till I've done the Crookwell run. Geez I'm happy

Saturn 5 ....... goin' to light that wick again!

Or until you get to take my KLE for a spin Brian.....then I'm sure one will be on your shopping list. :biggrinjester:

I just got pics loaded in to PB but it is bedtime as I have an 0530 alarm again in the morning :headbang:

A report and pics will follow in the next few days.

Mrs. Spud sent something for you too Brian, I will get it up to you between now and the weekend if I can [Thursday and Friday off so maybe I will bring the KLE and see if you're up for a short ride on it as well].

Ock.

Ain't Mrs Spud a sweetheart? I've not even met her just on the phone for the accomodation. She said she would send me a miracle cure for my back ( may keep the surgeon at bay) Yeah OCK, I'm keen on the KLE and maybe I can manage to have both KLE and the Strom. like yourself. I'm impressed with another mates KLE on trips we have done.
I'm home on Friday ( I think) as I 'm doing an o'nighter on Wednesday to a mates little hobby farm at Ilford. If I'm feeling good I may just wander around a bit maybe Bylong Way again ( before it's ruined with the cancerous pox of coal mines ) or maybe Dubbo /Parkes. We'll see.
I'll phone you Thursday and thanks.

Saturn 5 ......Flying high...very high

A RR, of sorts....

Richmond Maccas for morning coffee meet prior to setting off.

Wardy talking to Thunderdownunder while Ron moves to another photo point.

The sign says it.

Tarana Pub for lunch.

The Mountain.

Rod1 on the dirt.

Lida on the little Yamaha, comfortably cruising the dirt.

GG [from memory].

And now for something completely different.

Saturday night dinner....before we all got rowdy in the pub.

My "home away from home", right next to bloody Frog Hollow where all the residents were in full voice for most of the night. :headbang:

Packed ready to head for our respective homes.

Another "something completely different" moment.

Take a closer look, apparently I have a church named after me.

A final shot, the little KLE on the road past Hassan's Walls.

"WWA" was the first chance I've had to take the KLE away loaded for an overnight trip with the opportunity to compare its overall ability to keep up both on the road and on dirt against other Adventure Touring bikes.

Thank you to everyone who did the ride and made it such a great weekend.

And finally, thank you to Wardy for starting the idea.

Did you know Thunder had the best time .... EVER

Stats - 2876klm
fuel usage - 4.9l/100km
offs - nil
Near misses - one - one very large Gander who should run not walk when hearing twin pipes on a country road.
Soiled underwear - One pair - M/L hitting gravel at 110k/hr and me right behind.
Best ride- Mudgee to Brisbane in 11hrs then on arriving wanting to go back to do it again.
Best Bike - Duuurh - it a V-Strom anyday (but a KLE is not far behind.. But behind it is)

OH and I declare the Saturn 5 inagural "overnighter" a complete success.
Thanks Wardy.
P.S did you know that V-chops and Astro Bob are Twins. they dress the same drink the same beer, have the same weird humour, snore in unison and even pitch tents within an umbilical cord distance of one another. You would never know it to look at them but its true I tell you.:yikes:
