Reason for post is reading other sections they seem to be hard to get.
Passed through Suzuki Newcastle this afternoon and they have a set of K60 Scout in our size, not sure what price but they said comparable with Tourances etc. I was there to see if they would sell me bulk oil as I have 4 bikes in the garage. I would have got them but I only have 2000kms on my bike and the tyres are fine, maybe next set.

Maurice,
When I was looking for tyres, Graham Morris @ Broadmeadow had a set of Heidenaus K60 front and rear but they were too chunky for what i needed so I passed on them. However Graham Boyd Suzuki doesn't deal with Metzeler so I gave him a Miss as I wanted the Tourances but he did have a good range of other tyres in the V-strom range such as the Anakees, and I'm sure he had some Heidenaus there too. I went up to see Sports cycles (Bike Care) at Park Avenue adamstown (2 doors down from the green lawn mower building and down the back from a house) They will order in anything you want and will fit for a very resonable fee. Can I suggest Darren at "Two Wheel Tyres" at Warners Bay ... I've had two sets of Tourances fitted there plus some other minor work ... one man business and very reasonable ... A nice bloke to boot.
I'm sure he could get Heidenau 60's for you ... he seems to get hold of anything anyone is after? |

I'll be getting my next service from Sports cycles too as their work seems to be pretty thorough. I don't know what the Heidenaus 60's are like on the road but holy crap their back tyres are pretty chunky. It'd be like whacking a 4WD tyre on ya bike ![]() Cheers wobbly_boot (Dave) |

I'd be interested in the approx total kms out of a set on a Wee or Vee. Maybe worth a try next time on the back. Hopefully by the time I wear out my reasonably new Tourances, there might be some long distant reports back on the heidenau K60's here in Australia. Cheers Wobbly_boot |

Guys,
Heidenau also make a K76, almost identical to the Tourances only last better, I run the K60's on my 650, no problem with noise or highway use, especially with the newest K60 rear in the 150/70-17 as it has a solid line of tread right through the middle. You should get from 12,000km-15,000kms from them. I usually have them in stock, I'm located just outside Raymond Terrace if you want to drop by and have a look at them, hell you can even test ride them on bike first if you like.
